♡ How far in advance do we need to book?
As soon as you have a date locked in. I do not take on weddings in May or June (Euro Summer is calling) and only book during the other ten months of the year, with a limited number each week, so dates fill fast.
♡ What are your payment terms?
For Baby Just Say Yes, a $500 non refundable booking fee secures your date, with the balance due one month before your ceremony.
For Signature, a $1000 non refundable booking fee secures your date, with the balance due one month before your ceremony.
For The Whole Production, the retainer is larger and tailored to your event size and scope, usually calculated as a percentage of the overall cost. A clear breakdown is provided during your consult.
♡ What payment options do you accept?
I accept cash, card, direct deposit, Afterpay, Zip and Klarna
♡ How quickly can we get married?
Legally, a Notice of Intended Marriage must be lodged at least one month before your ceremony date. There are limited exceptions for serious circumstances, but those require a formal application and strict eligibility.
♡ Do you offer legals only?
No. Every couple deserves a ceremony that feels thoughtful, personal and professionally delivered. A chic elopement is absolutely welcome, but I do not offer basic paperwork only services.
♡ What Makes a Wedding Legally Binding in Australia?
Before the Ceremony
Notice of Intended Marriage (NOIM)
This form must be lodged with me at least one month before your wedding day. It captures your key details and makes your intent to marry official.
Declaration of No Legal Impediment to Marriage
You’ll each sign this form close to the wedding date (usually at your rehearsal or before the ceremony). It confirms that you’re both free to marry.
During the Ceremony
.The Monitum
A short legal statement that I must say about the meaning of marriage in Australia.
The Legal Vows
The one sentence each of you must say out loud in front of me and two witnesses:
“I call upon the persons here present to witness that I, [your full name], take you, [your partner’s full name], to be my lawful wedded [husband/wife/spouse].”
Signing the Three Documents
After your vows, you, your partner, your two witnesses and I will all sign the official certificates. Once that’s done, you are legally married.
Everything else such as personal vows, readings, rituals and celebrations is optional. This is the part of the ceremony where you can really make it feel unique and true to you. I will also give you access to my client portal which is filled with inspiration and ideas to help you personalise your day.
♡ Is a rehearsal included?
Yes. Baby Just Say Yes includes a short run through. Signature includes a full rehearsal with your wedding party at the venue. The Whole Production includes rehearsals and extended planning as part of full event management.
♡ How many times do we meet before the big day?
Baby Just Say Yes includes two planning meetings. Signature includes three structured planning sessions. The Whole Production includes unlimited planning meetings as needed.
♡ How many weddings do you do per day?
Just one. Always. You get my full focus, full energy and my very best outfit.
♡ Can you stay for the reception?
In Signature, we will chat through how long you'd like me at your reception for, to oversee the beginning of the event, there's a far amount of flexibility with this. In The Whole Production, I manage the full reception. In Baby Just Say Yes, I leave once the ceremony is complete. If you are inviting me as a guest, which is totally not the expectation, I might sus out the singles table.
♡ Do you charge a lodgement fee?
No. While it does take time to lodge your legal paperwork with Births, Deaths and Marriages, there is no actual government fee involved. Some celebrants add a made up lodgement fee but I do not. My admin time is already factored into your price.
♡ Are your prices fixed?
My listed rates reflect 2025/26 pricing and may change at any time prior to you booking. Once your booking is confirmed with a signed agreement and booking fee, your quoted price is locked in. Your fee will not increase if my costs rise, and it will not decrease if I offer future promotions.
♡ Are you inclusive of all couples?
Absolutely. Love is love and everyone is welcome here. I have spent the past decade working with and celebrating queer love in both personal and professional spaces, including Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras and WorldPride.
♡ Do you travel beyond Sydney and the Central Coast?
Absolutely. I love a destination wedding. Just reach out and I will provide a custom quote based on your location.
♡ Can our pets be part of the ceremony?
Yes please. I love a well behaved fur child. Just check with your venue first and make sure there is a designated minder so you can soak up the moment without any chaos.
♡ Can you recommend vendors?
Yes. Signature couples get access to my trusted list of vendor recommendations. For Whole Production weddings, I source and book suppliers on your behalf.
♡ Will you match our wedding colours or vibe?
Always. If there is a colour scheme or dress code, just let me know and I will make sure I blend in beautifully.
♡ Will you wear a silly costume?
Not at the included rate. If you are planning a themed wedding and want me in costume, we can chat but there will be a public embarrassment surcharge.
♡ Are you insured?
Yes. I carry public liability insurance up to $30 million, as well as professional indemnity and equipment cover.
♡ Can we include rituals like handfasting or candle lighting?
Definitely. I am all for including cultural, spiritual or symbolic rituals that are meaningful to you.
♡ Do you offer mates rates?
Unless you have held my deep dark secrets for ten plus years, we share some DNA, or you are offering a service for a service (I am in the market for a financial planner FYI), it is a no from me. My pricing reflects the time, energy and personal touch I bring to every ceremony. If I ever have a last minute date pop up, I might run a promotion, so keep an eye on my Instagram for those rare opportunities.
♡ Why do you call yourself The Single Celebrant?
It started as a bit of a joke, but it stuck and now it is a full brand. I might still be waiting for my own grand love story, but I bring a decade of major event experience and a whole lot of heart to helping others celebrate theirs. No distractions, no plus one, just my full attention on your big day.
♡ Are you still single?
Still single. Still thriving. Still legally allowed to marry you. If you know someone 👀 send them my way. In the meantime, I will be here writing vows and hyping you up like the unproblematic rom com best friend I was born to be.
